PiYo? What-o?

Seriously, I envy anyone with balance, poise, and of course strength. When I first tried PiYo at a live class format I thought it was going to be just like yoga with a bit of pilates mixed in.  I am not a yogi by no means, but I have surprised myself a few times when I attended Bikram yoga. I figured if I could get through that minimally, then I could probably ace PiYo. WRONG (a good kind of wrong though). PiYo is not easy but nothing new is easy. PiYo is a challenge you will want to conquer again and again because you can feel the increase in strength with each and every move. The definition I have seen from others who have finished the program is insane. Their whole body has transformed into a long, lean, PiYo defined being. Team Beachbody

flexibility workouts.
• Want a workout that doesn't require a lot of equipment.

improve their performance in other sports by restoring their flexibility and core strength.

31 Days of Halloween Day 29: October 29th- Guest DIYer Lisa Lynn!

I love everyone who loves Halloween. This chick right here shares my love of DIY Halloween decorations as well! Here are a few of her recent creations and their pinterest pin links. Follow her on Pinterest right now!

She made this wreath out of coffee filters! How neat!

Here is a quick link to another woman who has made a wreath and other decor out of filters.

I love these wax drip wine bottles. I would have these around year round!

Last but not least for Lisa's feature, check out these spooky heads dangling on her front porch.
These cheesecloth spirits will spook your neighbors for sure!

Day 24 of 31 Days of Halloween: October 24th: Gross Specimen Shooters!

Regular shot glasses are BORING! Gross your guests out by offering them something sweet carried in something disgusting.

I picked up 25 urine sample cups for about $7 shipped on Amazon. Urine Sample Cups
I had some leftover mailing labels (pictured below). I chose "Specimen 66613" to label the cups with. Cheesy, yes, but it got the point across. You could even take a Sharpie and write on the cups. If you know your guest list you could even write their names on them and a silly message.

I lined up all 25 of the uncapped cups on my counter. I used 2 large cans of pineapple juice and filled each a little more than half way to 3/4 filled. Next, I took a 1.75 bottle of Vanilla Vodka and topped the last 1/4 of each cup. I capped all 25 and put them in a Cauldron with ice so they could chill.

When each guest would grab one, they would shake it up. When opened the shot looked like a frothy cup filled guessed it........URINE!

Day 14 of the 31 Days of Halloween: October 14th Baby Doll Head Platter and Siamese Twins Tutorial

Disclaimer: This in no way is meant to be offensive.

Items used:
2 Dollar Store Plastic Baby Dolls for Siamese Twins
$5 Trunk at Craft Store
Free Dirt in Yard
Dollar Store Tissue Paper
Dollar Store Foam Brushes Pack
$5 Midsize Baby Doll Head Found on Doll from Dollar General
$5 Glass Platter with Glass Topper at Craft Store
Packing Tape
Moss Leftover from 2013 Halloween Clearance

After purchasing the doll from Dollar General, I gave the accessories to my daughter. I then used the head of the doll and removed the headband.

I took modpodge and spread it all over the head. I then stuck pieces of tissue paper on it to look like fake skin hanging off (this also gives the dirt and moss something to hold onto). I then let dry overnight.

The next day I put another coat of modpodge on the paper and head and took it outside and rolled in the dirt. I then stuck pieces of moss inside the platter and on the head. After a few hours it was dry and ready to put inside the glass casing.

Now for the Siamese twins: I laid them next to each other and took off the inside arms and legs. I then put a coat of modpodge on their chest and stomach. The tissue paper stuck to the podge as I wrapped them together. I let dry overnight.

I repeated the same process as the head by spreading more podge around their now single body and rolled in dirt. The moss also stuck to the 2nd coat of podge. I wanted a creepier effect so I wrapped them in packaging tape. This also helped keep the moss and dirt attached.

I added some moss to the bottom of the trunk and stuck them inside.

MLM thoughts........

Open mindedness. I pride myself on it so please have it while reading my next few lines. I recently read an article that went into depth regarding the success boom of MLM companies (multi-level marketing).
It did NOT mention Beachbody at all. In fact it didn’t describe one specific company that is live right now. It did speak about how these “alternative” styles of making a living are proving themselves in this otherwise corporate ladder environment we all have been climbing for years. It made me think back to the first time I heard of Beachbody. I hated that name-Beachbody. I thought it was the cheesiest name out there. I also thought it was a scam.
(If you are going to stop reading now, please keep going, I promise I am getting to the point). What I learned after joining was that this also is a business. A service. A job. So could I really make this into my full time job? Sure. Why not? Hundreds and thousands of men and woman are. Not because they are scamming people into buying something but because they are learning how to help people while helping themselves. You think if this stuff didn’t work or give results people would still buy it? Ok. Ok. People are easily influenced, I get that. Truly though, would there be that many coaches out there now that they are catching on how fulfilling this is?
We had a team call last night that talked about income. Funny side note: we NEVER have calls about income. Actually it may have been the first one? Someone correct me if I am wrong. Our team prides itself on fitness and health over income. It was a touchy subject for some. Money, sales, commissions, etc. tends to make people feel squeamish or sleazy. It shouldn’t though. If you are in this business, or any MLM business for that matter, you should be priding yourself on the services you offer. Be a great coach and that commission is justified.
Do you pay to get your nails done? Do you pay to have a therapist listen and analyze your problems? Do you pay to take an online course? Do you pay for a magazine subscription? If you are a coach out there or someone on the fence about coaching, think about your current 9-5 job if you have one. You may work your little butt off harder than the owner of the company yet your salary will always stay the same until your reviews come up. You could go months or years before it is time for a review/raise.
A real coach is a coach and not just a seller of a product. A coach motivates you right? A coach studies so they can offer you the most sound and legitimate advice, correct? 95% of the conversations most coaches, whether it be with Beachbody or an online personal trainer, live personal trainer, nutritionist, etc. have with people will never return a dime into their bank account. They still have those conversations to help people though.
Back to my main point about MLM ….. Think about it next time you hear of someone in MLM. When you go to a national retail store and buy a product you are buying something from a corporate company (in most cases). When you purchase something from someone in MLM, feel good about it. In a way you are helping the local economy. You may be helping a single mom’s life a bit easy now that she has a few extra bucks for her kids’ dance lessons or hockey games. You may be helping a college kid who is studying fitness who would rather be getting real world experience working with clients instead of slaving away at pizza hut.

Day 9 of the 31 Days of Halloween! October 9th: Crow Eyes Party Favor!

I stopped by a local Michael's craft store the other day and saw they had all of their Martha Stewart Halloween Crafts at 50% off. I never thought to buy these kits before because I am mainly a DIY party favor person. Each kit came with 12 test tubes, 12 corks, and 12 blank labels for $3! I bought the last 3 packs and planned to stop at another store later in the week to buy their stock. I also used 25% off entire purchase coupons during each trip to make these cost even less. They sat around for a few days while I thought about what I wanted to actually do with them. I knew they made all black Sixlets (Party City had them cheaper than any other online and brick and mortar store) so I figured I would use them for Crow Eyes. I wrote on the labels, added a scoop of Sixlets to the tube, and capped it off with the cork. Super easy and I am pretty excited to have everyone take one home!

Note: If you aren't able to find these MS kits at the local craft store I would suggest checking out your favorite online shopping site for "plastic test tubes" and you could add a small printable by taping or buying the sticker sheets.

Day 8 of 31 Days of Halloween! October 8th: American Horror Story Inspired Makeup

With the new season of AHS starting TONIGHT, I thought it was appropriate to share some makeup ideas from the show. I took to Pinterest and was kind of disappointed in the lack of tutorials that were out there. The ones I did find though were legit. I have always loved the weeping nun. Below you will find the links to the original sites for step by step instructions! Which look is your favorite?

Lastly, this one above does not have a direct link since it is an ad for the show but I imagine the makeup would be pretty easy to achieve. I love the gems below the eyes and the black and white striped neck.
